ਐਨਾ ਵੀ ਅਮੀਰ ਨੀ ਕਿ ਐਸ਼ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ,

ਐਨਾ ਵੀ ਗਰੀਬ ਨੀ ਕਿ ਭੁੱਖਾ ਮਰ ਸਕਾਂ!

ਐਨਾ ਵੀ ਦਲੇਰ ਨੀ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੜ੍ ਸਕਾਂ,

ਐਨਾ ਵੀ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਨੀ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰ ਸਕਾਂ!

ਮੈ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਹਾਂ ਬਸ ਠੀਕ ਹਾਂ,

ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ!

ਟੁੱਟੇ ਕੱਚ ਵਾਂਗੂਂ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਤਰੇੜਾਂ

ਕਿਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ,

ਅੱਜ ਯਾਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਫਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆ

ਹਰ ਅੱਖਰ ਚੋਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਸੀ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ......

ਖਾਮੋਸ਼ ਕਾਰਡ , ਲੰਮੇ ਖ਼ਤ, ਤੇ ਉਹ ਅਣਮੁੱਲੇ ਤੋਹਫੇ

ਛੂਹ ਕੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਨਾਲ ਝੋਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਲਏ ,

ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਤੈ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਾਗਜ਼ੀ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ

ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਖਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ੇ ਚ ਜੜਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਲਏ ,

ਤੱਕ ਲਫਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਬੇਵਫਾਈ ਨੂੰ

ਮਨ ਹੰਝੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਜ਼ਾਰੋ-ਜ਼ਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ.....

ਨਿਗਾਹ ਫੋਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਂਭੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੁਨੇਹਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਗਈ

ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਸਵਾਲ ਤੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਲੱਭ ਗਏ ,

ਕਦੇ ਹੱਸ- ਹੱਸ ਬੈਠ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਸੀ ਖਿਚਾਈਆਂ

ਹੁਣ ਹਾਸੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਉਕਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਬ ਗਏ ,

ਦਿਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਏਨੀ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਸਾੜ ਦੇਵਾਂ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ

ਐਨ ਮੌਕੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਵੀ ਗੱਦਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ..

ਇਕ 'ਕੱਲੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ
ਚਾਰ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹਾਂ

ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਨਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ
ਮੈ ਉਹਦੇ ਨੈਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੁੰਗੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਹਾਂ

ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਬਸ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੀ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਵੇਖਿਐ
ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਚ ਕੈਸਾ ਬਸ਼ਰ ਹਾਂ

ਕੱਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ 'Inder' ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦਿਆਂ
ਪੀੜ ਲਈ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ਰ ਹਾਂ !
